HIGHLIGHTS OF THE CLASS OF 2000 - 2001

The data for this report were collected through mail and e-mail surveys and follow-up telephone calls and is accurate as of January 2002. The office of Career Services surveyed undergraduate students who received degrees from UMD between July 1, 2000 and June 30, 2001. This report is based on responses from 913 graduates (85% of the reported 1075 undergraduate students granted degrees).

Of the 913 respondents, 850 (93%) reported "employed" or "continuing education,"

• 711 (78%) reported "employed,"

• 139 (15%) reported "continuing education."

Of the 711 employed, 689 (97%) responded to a question about the relevance of their jobs to their majors, with 573 (83%) reporting employment "related" or "somewhat related" to major,

• 421 (61%) reported employment "related" to major,

• 152 (22%) reported employment "somewhat related" to major.

Of the 711 employed, 602 (85%) reported accepting employment in Minnesota.

Of the 913 respondents, only 45 (5%) reported that they were still seeking employment.
