Career Services staff can assist you in preparing for the job search and presenting yourself effectively as a candidate for employment.
Resume and Letter Critique Service
To receive written comment and suggestions, you may leave examples of your resume and letter of application at the main desk in Career Services.
Interviewing
Handouts and videos are available to assist in preparing for employment interviews. Appointments may be scheduled for personal assistance and to conduct practice interviews. You can also practice interviewing online. UMD students and alumni are able to use the online inteview practice service Interview Stream to practice interviewing in the comfort of your home. Don't have a webcam? You can schedule an appointment to use a Career Services computer. Just log in to your InterviewStream account and select "Schedule Interview at Your Career Center" from the links on the left.
Workshops
Workshops are held throughout the year on a variety of topics. Customized workshops may also be arrangeed for specific groups, clubs, or classes. For more information contact Career Services.
Job Fairs
Fairs are sponsored each year to help you explore career options and meet with employers.
Minnesota Education Job Fair
Career Services participates in the job fair for teachers, an event held in the Twin Cities area every spring. Administrators of schools throughout the country send representives to interview candidates for school positions. Check with Career Services for more information.

GoldPASS
Registration with GoldPASS UMD's resume referral service, gives you the opportunity to be included in a computerized database for referral to employers upon their request, create a customized resumé, and be eligible for on-campus interviews.
